Hey! I'm Max ā€” a mobility planner and (web)designer from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

I was born in 1999 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and have been designing and developing ever since I was little. This started with webdesign and graphic design, and has developed towards the physical world with urban planning.

I have a strong focus on (urban) mobility and the interaction of mobility with public space. Iā€™m intrigued by the effect that mobility can have on the experience of a city at eye-level, and Iā€™m personally motivated to work on a more human-centered approach to mobility, and on more liveable cities as a whole.

Bachelor Thesis: The effects of traffic intensity on liveability (2023)

I wrote my Bachelor Thesis at mobility consultant Studio Bereikbaar (February 2023 - June 2023). The focus in this thesis was to research the effects of traffic intensity on the liveability of busy streets within an urban environment. By linking traffic intensity data to field research (using the Healthy Streets Design Check-tool to analyse streets), I was able to visualise the connection between the two. By doing this analysis, I was also able to gather a collection of design guidelines that can help make these type of busy streets liveable.

High Speed Rail Research (2021)

During my internship at PosadMaxwan I researched High Speed Rail development in relation to the urban station area. The infographic I created shows design guidelines to follow when integrating a High Speed Rail connection in a city.
